Independent Republic in Vilnius city
Those who visit Vilnius are always drawn to this calm and cosy neighbourhood full of amazing history, boutique shops, artist workshops, restaurants and cafes.
Today, Uzupis is a hip district, often called Lithuanian Monmartre - inhabited as it is by artists, politicians, showmen and other interesting personas who have turned this district into a real independent republic - with its own government, constitution, anthem, traditions, festivals and even its own Independence Day - 1 April.
You will meet a guide and meander through Independent Republic of Uzupis, hearing stories about Uzupis, entering hidden courtyards, meeting locals, stopping at the butique shops and bars until you will realize that you have never been in a neighbourhood like this in your life - Uzupis will leave deep imprint in your memory.
