It is a pleasant ten to 15 minute walk through the diverse and amazing Uzupis district, from Filaretai Youth Hostel to Vilnius Old Town, with pubs, coffee shops and restaurants along the way.

From the main bus/railway station, you will need to take bus No. 34 (it stops opposite the train station, next to McDonalds), and get off at the eighth stop ("Filaretu stop "). Cross the main-street and walk approximately 150 m down Filaretu Street. The youth hostel is on the left.
From the airport, take bus No. 1 to the bus/railway station, or a taxi directly to the hostel. A taxi from the airport should cost 20-30 Lt.
